From The Writer’s Desk: August 2026

It’s been a weird time in my mind, body, and life lately.

Maybe it’s midlife. Maybe it’s burnout. Maybe it’s Maybelline…. (if you know, you know).

Either way, I’ve been restructuring just about everything, inside and out and my writing life is a MAJOR theme in that.

I’m on a took a two-week break, which started seven weeks ago, so now I’m calling it a sabbatical. I do have a “plan” and a fiction project in mind, and I’m playing with those ideas very slowly on pen and paper and letting the algorithms go take over someone else’s work and life while I figure out what kind of human artist I want to be, maybe always have been before I made a business out of my creativity.

I no longer have an author newsletter so if you’re seeing an old link around that says something about that, please ignore it. I’ll use this blog space for any relevant updates. And I’ll get around to updating the forward facing information eventually.

You can see what I’m currently doing on the What I’m Working On Page. No promises of consistent updates.

In the meantime, please enjoy this picture of me sitting with a very large tree, taken on my 46th birthday this year.
